Young Enterprise
Sixth former George Jeffreys was the joint
winner of Oxford University’s French Film
competition. The competition, organised
by the Faculty of Medieval and Modern
Languages, was to re-write the ending of
a film in no more than 1500 words and
was open to all students of secondary-
school age. George submitted his
entry as a YouTube video and wrote his
alternative ending in French. He wrote and
collaborated on the translation of the script,
cast the film and directed it. The result is
a very accomplished film complete with
soundtrack, subtitles and credits.
Wabi-Sabi
finished in the top 5 companies in the national final of the Young Enterprise
competition, the furthest an Abingdon School company has ever reached. The team
represented the South Central region and put in a fantastic performance, impressing
the judging panel with their engaging trade stand interviews, vibrant and well-polished
presentation and professionally written company report.
