Abingdonians
Out and About
A group of lower school boys took
advantage of the Activities Weekend
to visit the Ashmolean Museum in
Oxford to look at the Greek and
Roman artefacts.
Third year classicists explored
Hadrian’s Wall visiting Vindolanda
and a more recent Northumberland
attraction, the Carlisle cinema, to
see the Avengers film!
Boarders enjoyed
a wide range of
activities this term.
... and caving, canoeing and rock climbing in Wales.
Amongst them was
a fiercely contested
paintballing battle ...
Third year
students spent
three days
on the Ypres
Salient and at
the Somme
learning about
the First World
War. The boys
tracked down
memorials
to three OAs
in Pozieres
cemetery.
More than 90 cadets and staff were involved in the CCF’s annual Easter Camp at Westdown Camp, Salisbury Plain. The cadets all made excellent
progress. Congratulations to Cdt William Franklin for the award of Best Recruit and to Cdt Oliver Leafe for Best Advanced Infantry Cadre Cadet.
