26 January 2023 Abingdon Development Sponsor a room in Austin, Crescent or School House With Abingdon’s boarding development project well underway, it’s been exciting to see the new accommodation really start to take shape. As part of this muchanticipated modernisation of our boarding facilities, we’re offering the opportunity to sponsor a room in one of the houses; Austin, Crescent or School. Boarding has been part of the Abingdon tradition for more than 650 years and this is a unique opportunity to have such a personal connection with our past and future. How to sponsor a room • Click on the button for your house halfway down the Building the Future page under ‘Be part of our boarding story’ • Explore the available rooms on the interactive floorplans • Decide which room you would like to sponsor and click the button ‘Find out more and pledge’ • Fill out the online pledge form We will get in touch with you to guide you through the sponsorship process. We’ll also discuss what you would like on the sponsor plaque which will go outside the room. The coloured plaques below are options of how your plaque could look. All sponsors will be invited to the opening ceremony later in 2023. The cost to sponsor a bedroom, music practice room, study or social room is £8,000 plus Gift Aid, or £6,000 for those taxpayers who may be able to claim additional tax relief on their donation. Sponsorship payments can either be made annually over four years or with a single payment. Will writing webinar On 6 December 2022, we were delighted to welcome over 150 OAs, parents and staff to our Will writing webinar hosted by Paul Batchelor (OA 2000) and his colleague Erica Burt-Moore. Paul and Erica gave us a whistlestop guide to everything you need to know about Wills. There were some tricky questions which they navigated through seamlessly.
