abingdon.org.uk/prep 13 Shine Star, Shine! - The Pre-Prep Nativity Cogges Manor Farm at Christmas Reception enjoyed their return to the farm to find out what Christmas would have been like during Victorian times. With gingerbread stars to bake on the range, making wreaths, paper chains and crackers, we had a fabulous time, whilst we learnt about the origins of each craft. With a carpet picnic around the tree in the Victorian parlour and a bracing race around the meadow we certainly returned with new knowledge and a very festive minibus filled with smiling faces! Our Nativity, entitled ‘Shine Star, Shine!’, told the story of the Big Star struggling to shine and lead the way to the stable on the night of the birth of Jesus. The Year 2 boys did a wonderful job of learning their lines and Year 1 and Reception joined in with the original songs. We finished our performance with some congregational singing, and everyone left feeling festive and ready for Christmas!
