ABINGDON PREP NEWS www.abingdon.org.uk/prep 7 Poetry recitals Year 3 has been learning how to perform poetry in Drama. They have considered the pitch, speed and volume of their voice, their actions and movement and thought very carefully about where to do their performances. Watch the video to see some excellent recitals . Rocking videos In computing lessons, Year 3 has been linking up to their science topic on rocks and using an app called ChatterPix for Kids to create short videos. The boys used the app to bring their rocks to life and recorded facts about their chosen rock and added stickers to turn them into characters – watch the video . Look how the chicks have grown! Our Pre-Prep visitors are now 10 weeks old. School chicks Spring at Abingdon Prep Although most of us were not able to see Abingdon Prep this spring, it did look really lovely. Many thanks to the Estates Team for all their hard work. Debating society Abingdon Prep Debating Society held its first ‘Zoom’ debate. The motion on this occasion was ‘This House believes being ruled by a good dictator would be better than living in a democracy’. The motion was proposed by George and opposed by Patrick, both in Year 7. After some excellent speeches, both boys answered questions from the audience, before a vote was held which narrowly opposed the motion. The next debate will be held about the upcoming American Presidential election.
