6 May 2020 ABINGDON PREP NEWS The 2.6 Challenge British charities issued a plea to try to mitigate the loss of fundraising that they are experiencing due to the lockdown and Abingdon Prep joined the challenge. British rowing has also taken part and the Willis family, with sons at Abingdon and Abingdon Prep and all keen rowers, set themselves the target of rowing 26km on the rowing ergometer. Mission complete in 2 hours 3 minutes. AMAZE-ing mazes and marble runs The boys in Years 5 and 6 came up with some stunning marble runs and younger boys created amazing mazes using their Lego blocks. Take a look at this video . – they really are fantastic. Trying to solve a problem is at the forefront of every CDT lesson and the boys are pretty creative and none more so than when Laurie realised he had no marble for his maze game; he persuaded his mother that he could improvise with a bag of Maltesers to test his very important CDT work. To quote Laurie … ‘Result!’ Rough seas and storms arrived at the homes of Year 3 drama pupils as the boys explored the extraordinary life of Grace Darling. The budding thespians recreated, with the help of siblings, some of the incredible events that Grace encountered. Video link Stormy seas for Year 3 drama
