ABINGDON PREP NEWS www.abingdon.org.uk/prep 5 The 2020 design Challenge The annual whole school design challenge saw boys of all ages use fabric to create something decorative and/or useful. From face masks and recyclable wipes to chickens, snakes and elephants, the boys excelled in their creativity and sewing skills. Upcycled clothing featured strongly with fabric changed into bunting, dog collars, a wind sock, phone cases, soft toys and even a fabric plate and bowl. Year 6 learnt about the structure and function of animal and plant cells and were very imaginative when asked to build their own cell models. Video link Recreating cells Retelling parables Year 5 has been looking at the parables of Jesus with the boys retelling the stories in any way they choose.
