Commendations
If you are in the middle school you
get awards called commendation for
good work. You should collect these
and show them to your tutor who will
keep a record. Once you have gained
a certain number then you will get an
award from Mr Golding (usually sweets
or chocolate).
Housemaster’s Praise
If you do something really good, either
in your academic work, “other half” or
social activities, you may be given a
Housemaster’s Praise. This is awarded
to you by Mr Golding at House
assembly and is something to be very
proud of.
Head’s Praise
For outstanding contributions to the
school you can be given a Head’s
Praise. This means that the Head
will see you personally in her office
to say well done. This is a very
prestigious award.
How will my
achievements be
recognised?
Blue Buffalo House Hero
Awards
If you demonstrated a clear
commitment to one or all of the house
characteristics (Passion, Generosity,
Honesty, Courage and Imagination) the
Mr Golding might decide to give you a
Blue Buffalo House Hero trophy. These
are very difficult to get and are very
prestigious. Your picture goes up on a
special board in the house and the prize
is awarded at House Assembly.
Special Prizes
Every year at a prize giving ceremony
at the end of the summer term
special prizes are given to boys
who have contributed a great deal
to the school. There are prizes for
academic work, sports, services,
societies, leadership and many other
things. These prizes only go to boys
who have been exceptional in their
contribution. If you get one of these
you have done very well indeed.
