www.abingdon.org.uk 23 Raising money for Be Free YC This year the boys raised over £1000 for Be Free YC which helps and supports young carers in Oxfordshire. Each boy brought in a handful of silver coins to arrange on the charity’s logo with the older boys helping the younger ones to put the correct coin on the correct colour of the rainbow. Owl Art Our musicians have been on fine form this term. Highlights have been enjoying the opportunity to play to parents, peers and staff at the Concert Platform, taking part in the Radley Orchestra Day and in the end of term finale, the Carol Concert. Music is very much a part of everyday life at the Prep with 18 Other Half music activities alongside music in the curriculum. Every boy from Year 3 upwards has represented the Prep School at rugby this term with some strong performances at festivals and in fixtures. The younger boys enjoyed our Tag Rugby Festival and our U13s put in a tremendous performance against tough opposition to win the U13 Sevens Festival at Abingdon Prep. The U10 squad had a memorable day out at Twickenham winning all their matches in the England Rugby Travel Festival. Blue Watch visit Abingdon Prep Pre-Prep relished the opportunity to see inside the fire engine and tried their hand at the water hose while learning all about keeping safe. Year 5 was treated to some very special visitors for their project Animals in Art - Twoo a tawny owl and Megatron a southern white faced owl. The boys made some beautifully accurate drawings, paying close attention to the textures and facial details, in preparation for the sculptures they made later in the term.
