18 January 2020 Abingdon Music Tips from a Maestro We welcomed back the distinguished Russian pianist and teacher, Katya Lebedeva for a very enjoyable and very informative masterclass with some of our pianists. It was wonderful to see the pupils respond with such immediacy to Miss Lebedeva’s fine teaching. Lower School Lunchtime Concert Adam Treadaway directed this year’s very impressive and hugely enjoyable concert which included pieces by Ola Gjeilo, Puccini and Mozart. Our youngest musicians showed great promise at their lunchtime concert with ensembles for brass and strings, a double bass duet, two performances from boys on the harp, a Junior Blues item, two demonstrations of advanced drum kit playing and a Lower School Band to round things off with their rendition of Tequila !
