The boys explored the Roman military site of Caerleon, Roman ‘Isca’, and Caerwent (Venta Silurum) which was a civitas settlement of the Welsh Silures tribe. Aquae Sulis The second years enjoyed a trip to Bath to visit the Roman remains of Aquae Sulis, the setting for their current text book. They saw the bathing complex and remains of the temple to Sulis Minerva and the ancient curse tables. The more intrepid also tasted the water from the sacred spring.
