Welcome to Abingdon.
I am honoured to have the responsibility of taking this already high achieving school forward. It is such a hugely impressive community, steeped in history but ready to embrace the future. There is something very special about this school, such enormous potential in staff and boys.
I know it would be expected that a Head speaks highly of their school but it’s not just me, our recent ISI report confirms everything I believe about Abingdon. The report is such a wonderful accolade but perhaps the finding that I am most pleased with is about the boys:
‘Pupils are an interesting combination of grounded yet ambitious individuals’ and ‘Whilst pupils are confident, their total lack of arrogance stems from individual self-understanding.’
Certainly you would expect a stimulating, rigorous academic programme, where high standards count, as a given. Teachers are passionate about their subjects, deeply committed to the School and keen to draw the very best from the boys. This, combined with an eye watering array of clubs, sports and activities, really does mean that a boy can explore any possible talent or interest, whether latent or burgeoning.
Do come and visit us, we will be very happy to welcome you to Abingdon School.
